This book serves as a great introduction to working with PVC and iron pipe to build neat projects. Even though I've done some PVC building in the past I was learning new things within the first chapter. Great writing style and nice photography goes well with the fun projects.

My 9 year old grandson and I made the water gun. The end product worked ok. Had trouble with the parts needed as they are not identified in lay and terms. You have to be Home Depot savvy to find everything needed.

Love this book! So many great ideas, and easy to follow directions too. Who knew you could build a yurt out of PVC pipe? Jordan Bunker did. (and he shows exactly how anyone else can too) But first, I'll be making that steel pipe bed.

Love the ingenuity of theses DIY projects. Easy to follow very straight forward directions with lots of pictures to guide you along the way. Can't wait to get started.

This book has some great ideas for useful things made out of pipe

PVC + Pipe Engineer, due out 01 Dec 2017 from author Jordan Bunker and Rockport publishers is a trendy DIY book set up in a photo-tutorial format with 17 projects ranging from small and portable to large garden and furniture projects. Many of them are super practical (hanging bike rack, bike trailer, wall shelf) and a few are strictly decorative (candle holders, a 'bamboo' Japanese style dripping fountain, etc). I like that there are quite a few added practical bells and whistles for the projects in the book, for example, the hanging bike rack has storage for bike gloves and helmet designed into the project for added functionality.The book starts with a table of contents and a good introduction of tools and materials along with photos. The introduction also includes practical advice for avoiding some of the limitations and undesirable aspects of some of the materials (for example how to avoid rust when using iron pipe and pipe fittings).The projects chapters are separated into 4 basic categories: Gadgets, Lighting, Furniture and Outdoors. Each of the projects include a supplies list, tools list, and a photo tutorial. The photographs are well done and easy to follow.We all know that there's a very fine line for design and fashion between cutting edge awesome and 'WTF'? I really believe that many of these designs (a strong majority) are well on the 'that is so cool!' side of the line. There's also a fair bit of zaniness (foam 'nerf' launcher, super powered squirt gun, etc) which is always fun. I'm spending the weekend with my daughter making a canopy bed out of pipe, and it looks awesome and is very solid.Several of the projects remind me a lot of the philosophy and design of the Bauhaus movement, and besides being practical and do-able for the average DIYer, have some serious design chops. I can absolutely see the table candelabra (included in the book), in a trendy design studio being sold for a gazillion dollars.Nicely designed, stable, well made projects with well photographed and illustrated tutorials.144 pages, softbound, due out 1 Dec, 2017.Four and a half starsDisclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher.

What a fun and useful book this is. Well explained I shows a myriad of item that can be made with the simple pipe being PVC or metal. I love the bedside lamp, the four poster bed and the water feature the best, but there are some really quirky ideas as there are very sophisticated pieces of furniture, which would feel right at home in the popular industrial look. Love it

About the Author

Laura Ingalls Wilder (1867–1957) was born in a log cabin in the Wisconsin woods. With her family, she pioneered throughout America’s heartland during the 1870s and 1880s, finally settling in Dakota Territory. She married Almanzo Wilder in 1885; their only daughter, Rose, was born the following year. The Wilders moved to Rocky Ridge Farm at Mansfield, Missouri, in 1894, where they established a permanent home. This is one of a series of chapter books based on the Little House on the Prairie books.Not only are the stories delightful but they give children a taste of history. The stories are short enough to be bedtime story books. The illustrations are simple and beautiful. I have the whole series and love them all. I originally bought them for my children and now my grandchildren are enjoying them. I have also bought these books for gifts and have never found a child who didn't like them. These are books that you will not tire of reading. They are part of my "keep forever" library.

I grew up watching Little House on the Prairie. Thus, it became my favorite show and Laura Ingalls Wilder, my favorite author. In turn this, I named my oldest daughter, Laura. I purchased the first toddler book for my Granddaughter for Christmas and she loves it. So, I purchase her two more for Easter. Yes, I will purchase more and then purchase the chapter books when she is ready.

My kids love all of the Laura books. This is another great book in the series. Great introduction to the Laura chapter books for ages 3-7. This is my 5 year old's very favorite book series!

Disappointed that there wasn't more info about sugaring and eating syrup on snow.

This is a nice way to present a chapter of Little House in the Big Woods - less reading and more pictures. It is good for readers who are interested in the series but not ready to read a chapter book, or to use as an introduction or summary of the chapter. I am very satisfied with the book!

Note: I love all things Little House, so my views are a bit skewed. That said, the illustrations are so perfect in this book. I bought this for my daughter, so she could also enjoy the adventures of the Ingalls family and she loves it (and the others I have purchased). Sweet stories, great pictures.

A great little series for smaller children. Beautiful illustrations, short bedtime reads.

A classic favorite.

It would be nice if it was in color.The Appendix B information with address, phone numbers, URL's should be included with the listing for each spring, not at the end. Please fix !It would be nice if it was also offered as a KIndle e-book. Come on Falcon Guides how about releasing your guides for us that read on Kindles !

Anakin is featured, as in the films, from childhood in "The Phantom Menace," filled with innocence and exuberance, to young adulthood in "Attack of the Clones," a man with eyes touched by subtle lines of shadow beneath them. By the time of "Revenge of the Sith," Anakin the Jedi Knight is a grim-faced hero, burdened by war, secrets and personal demons. This comic version of "Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" is regretfully abbreviated as well in scenes like the introduction of the mysterious bounty hunter Boushh, unnamed in this book, actually Leia in disguise; and the powerfully emotional sequence in which Luke confides to Leia the true secret of their shared pasts, before he goes to face Darth Vader, and perhaps his final fate. All these missing pieces of this beloved story will disappoint any reader who knows this classic tale, lessening their full enjoyment of this alternative version of the Saga.But despite the above shortcomings in these particular stories of "Star Wars," there is still magic within these pages. This illustrated version of "The Original Trilogy" is presented in an art style very reminiscent of the cel animation or 2D cartoon creations enjoyed by generations from the producers of this project, the Walt Disney Company. Specifically, this collection proves to be a showcase of the talents of Disney comic creators from the nation of Italy. For decades comics featuring characters from Disney canon like Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and comic master Carl Barks' Uncle Scrooge McDuck, have found an adoring audience in Europe, even more than in their homeland of the United States. Thus the Disney Studio has utilized gifted overseas writers and artists in the creation of comics for readers outside of North America. Among these talents are Italian comic craftsmen and women who contributed to this special project, like: Alessandro Ferrari, who wrote the manuscript adaptation and a team of illustrators which include Matteo Piana, Igor Chimisso, Alessandro Pastrovicchio, and Davide Tuotti.Considering the long animation legacy of the Disney Studio, which is loved the world over, a comic version of "the adventures of Luke Skywalker" told in the style of vintage Disney animation seems appropriate and actually very enticing. The surprising charms of this particular take on this world famous tale are partly the distinctive 'cartoony' caricatures of the cherished characters, like Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewbacca. The Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, has a more insect-like interpretation of his helmet design, but he remains no less menacing. Meanwhile, Master Yoda's appearance seems to pay homage to the animated Yoda imagined in Genndy Tartakovsky's fondly remembered "Star Wars: Clone Wars" 2D animated series from 2003-2005. This 21st century adaptation of the Saga also uses modern computer graphic technology in its coloring and visual storytelling, notably in its illustration of the starships of the "galaxy far, far away" and the dreaded Death Star, giving this comic an added cinematic impression.The animated ambiance of this version of "Star Wars" is an especially appealing aspect of this comic collection, creating a wish in this reviewer to perhaps someday see a 2D cartoon take on more of "the adventures of Luke Skywalker!" The art is pretty killer, but some things that I nerdily consider essential (especially Han and Chewie parts) are removed from the story...I guess I was looking for a more complete retelling.But the art is great.

My 6th grader has learning disabilities and reading is really tough for him. Once he started showing an interest and personal commitment to reading, we got him some graphic novels. This is a great book and reasonably priced. Perfect for Star Wars fans!

My seven year old son was hesitant at first and then once he started he didn't stop reading it. He loves star wars and after he read this and the second (real first) one we had to rewatch all of the movies before he reread them both again!

This is a a really cool book. I wish I had this when I was a kid! The artwork is very good, and it follows the story from the movies almost exactly. I bought it for my kids for Xmas, and then ended up buying a copy for my nephews, and a good friend's kids. I highly recommend this for any star wars fan.

Beautifully illustrated, but I do wish it was complete. There are several scenes that have been left out (Leia in disguise delivering Chewbacca to Jabba's Palace, Boba Fett's death in the sarlacc pitt, etc...), but is still a fun read.

I was recently given the Original trilogy book as a gift for my son. It looked nice in his little library, but figured it look a little lonely by its self.Now having both, I never realized I would introduce Star Wars to him this way. He loves the stylized artwork and it was easy for him to follow along when we have story time.
